Enter the #ATEAB23 Creative Writing Competition

#ATownExploresABook23’s creative writing competition is inspired by Mary Seacole’s travelogue, Wonderful Adventures of Mrs Seacole in Many Lands – a heritage book with descriptions of Mary’s travel experiences.

The theme is JOURNEY, and we welcome entries from aspiring young writers age 5-14. There are prizes for three categories – Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, and Key Stage 3.

So, what does the word JOURNEY mean to you? We are interested in your creative voice. Write from your own perspective or a character’s perspective. You can write a story, poem, letter, diary entry…the possibilities are endless!

A Town Explores A Book 2023 creative writing competition is hosted by Hastings Museum and Art Gallery. For inspiration why not journey through the museum collections?
