Join us at Hastings Museum and Art Gallery for the A Town Explores A Book 2023 schools engagement launch event on Wednesday 22 February.

The whole festival community including school staff teams, funders, partners, and friends, is invited to meet the ATEAB team and learn more about festival plans for exploring Mary Seacole’s book.

We are running two festival launch sessions on 22 February: 4pm-5pm and 5.30pm-6.30pm, to ensure as many people as possible are able to join us.

Discover 8 ways for schools to connect to the festival. This emphasis is on the relationship between reading, writing, art activities and FUN!

The engagement activities invite participants to think about what Mary Seacole means to them in multiple, accessible, creative ways.

We will introduce our creative writing competition for young aspiring writers hosted by Hastings Museum and Art Gallery, which is open to ages 5-14.

Schools can pick up free copies of Wonderful Adventures of Mrs Seacole in Many Lands donated by festival partner National Literacy Trust Hub in Hastings (limited number available).

See you there!
