Emotional Landscapes Exhibition
Four Courts Wellbeing Hub
Mixed media exhibition by members of the Four Courts communities and Stitch tlc group responding to the characters’ explorations in the landscape.
The three protagonists in E. Nesbit’s The Railway Children relocate to the countryside because their mother cannot afford the house in London as a sole income earner. They spend most of their time outside exploring “…the delights of woods and fields and rocks and rivers…”.
The communities who have created this exhibition have explored how the protagonists learn in the landscape through a series of emotional experiences. The writing describing the weather itself underpins the emotion: “… a wild wind that drove flocks of dark purple sky across the sky ‘like herds of dream-elephants…’”
This is the northern end of the festival trail.
